Endometriosis Awareness Month - March 2017

Does food play a part in endometriosis symptoms?

Yes! Some foods, personal care products and food containers can cause hormonal imbalances.

Soy products, for example, are estrogenic. It is best to avoid soy if you have endometriosis. Refined sugar is another culprit.

To support a healthy hormone balance:

*increase your fibre, iron and magnesium intake

*focus on brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.)

*consume more green leafy veg

*get more colourful veg on your plate

*eat more healthy fats at each meal including nuts/seeds, coconut products, olives and olive oil, avocados

*use turmeric and ginger in your cooking and make tea using them

*include bone broths/stocks in your weekly meal plan or drink as a tea

*try to get grass-fed meats when possible

Having the support of a nutritionist can help you on your road to recovery.
